Downtown Austin is transformed this F1 weekend into a sizable street festival.

Fan Fest shut down Saturday morning at 2 AM, and reopened at 10:30. Plenty of F1 visitors and locals are taking in what this free event has to offer.

Friday night had more of a club atmosphere to it, but during the day, fan fest is all about being family friendly.

There were plenty of things like music, interactive sculptures to play on, and face painting for youngsters to enjoy. And of course, more F1 activities and incredible cars on display for kids of all ages to admire.

The crowds mean a steady stream of customers for local businesses that have set up shop on the fan fest grounds, selling everything from limited edition F1 hats and t-shirts to the kind of tasty treats Austin is known for.

The folks at the Tiff's Treats booth estimated they will sell about 250 dozen cookies Saturday, that's 3000 sugar snacks!
