Two people were killed and one person was rushed to the hospital after a head-on collision in Blanco County Monday.
It happened on U.S. Highway 290 about three miles west of Johnson City.
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety say an 18-year-old woman fell asleep behind the wheel around 1 p.m. Her car crossed into the lane of oncoming traffic, hit a guard rail and then struck a truck head-on.
Investigators say Jack Crossly Cobb, 83, and Pearl Waddell Cobb, 82, were both declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, Kristen Nichole Waggener of San Antonio, was taken to University Medical Center at Brackenridge in Austin where she is being treated for a broken pelvis and broken leg.
