AUSTIN -- Police are investigating a stabbing and possible robbery in Downtown Austin, which ended in a car chase and four arrests.

Police responded to a stabbing at East 3rd and Brush Streets around 1:50 a.m. A 25-year-old man had been stabbed in the arm, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police called for a robbery detective to come to the scene, though it is unclear how a robbery was involved.

A short time later police detained another person at gunpoint in connection with the stabbing. A short time after that, an APD motorcycle unit was involved in a chase through downtown when three people crashed their car in front of the Holly Street Power Plant.

The three fled the scene, but were later caught and arrested by police. APD says the three arrested were also involved in the stabbing and the previous arrest.
