AUSTIN -- This year several films will make their world premieres at the Austin Film Festival.

Writer and director Tom Sanchez shot his film La Navaja De Don Juan in Peru but decided with the ever-growing film industry in Austin, the premiere should be here.

"Austin is really cool. The film festival is a great festival, especially for writers. I thought it would be a great place to premiere," Sanchez said.

Sanchez lives in Los Angeles; the cast is flying in from Peru for the fest.

"It is a film we like to describe as "Y Tu Mamá También' meets Superbad," he explained. "It's about two brothers that go from one side of town to the next part of town to a party, and they kind of get into trouble."

It will premiere Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Rollins Theater at The Long Center for Performing Arts. Then again on October 31 at 9:30 p.m. at the IMAX Theatre at the Bob Bullock Texas State History museum.
