AUSTIN -- Another suspect in the Yassine Enterprises case has accepted a plea deal with federal prosecutors.
KVUE's news partner the Austin American-Statesman, Nizar Hakiki pleaded guilty Monday to a single count of transferring a firearm used in a violent crime and aiding and abetting.
Hakiki faces drug and weapons charges. FBI agents arrested him after raiding several night clubs owned by Yassine Enterprises back in March. He was scheduled to go to trial this week.
A jury already convicted the alleged ring leader Mike Yassine and his brother Hadi of money laundering. A third Yassine brother, Steve, was found not guilty. He is still in custody on drug charges.
The Statesman reports at least two other defendants, Steve Yassine and Alejandro Melendrez, have also accepted plea agreements.
Hakiki is scheduled to be sentenced March 1, 2013.
