AUSTIN -- Homicide detectives have released the name of a woman found dead in a North Austin apartment complex.

Police say just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, a man walked into Psychiatric Emergency Services, a 24-hour clinic, requesting a welfare check at the Dias De Sol Apartments on Twin Crest Drive off St. John's.

When police arrived they discovered Francisca Garcia-Guerra, 40, dead with trauma to her body. They also found what officers say was "some blood."

A man is now in police custody. Formal charges are expected to be filed soon.

"We always encourage people to call us if they see somebody who doesn't belong in the neighborhood, to give us a call. It's no problem for us to come and check on the situation. We'll respectfully deal with the person and go from there," said APD Officer Traver Stefan.

A section of Twin Crest was closed off in front of the building as homicide detectives investigated.

An autopsy on Garcia-Guerra is pending.
