AUSTIN -- The Texas Department of Public Safety says relationships with Mexican cartels continue to make gangs a threat to Texas.
An annual report released Monday finds there are more than 2500 gangs operating across Texas, comprised of more than 100,000 members.
The Tango Blast Gang has passed the Mexican Mafia as the state's most significant gang threat. It has an estimated 10,000 members, compared to the Mafia's 6,000 members.
Other large gangs in the state include the Texas Syndicate and Barrio Azteca.
