PASADENA, Texas – Pasadena police say they’ve solved a rape case that happened two decades ago.

The victim was working at a convenience store on Strawberry Street on March 3, 1993 when a robber walked in and demanded money. He forced the 52-year-old woman into a back room where he ordered her to strip naked.

The robber then forced her into her car and drove to another location where he raped her.

The victim survived and later moved to Wisconsin.

The suspect was never caught.

Flash forward to 20 years later when David Scott James was arrested for allegedly using a stolen credit card. Police run his DNA through the CODIS database and it links him to the 1993 rape.

James is in custody on a charge of aggravated sexual assault.
