Austin police are still searching for the driver who hit a cyclist on Nuckols Crossing Road Saturday evening just before 6 p.m.

The 21-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to Brackenridge. Police spent hours at the scene trying to piece the incident together. They don’t have many details, but believe the driver was heading southbound on Nuckols when he hit the cyclist.
Police still haven’t figured out if the victim was hit from behind or from the side, and they don’t believe he was wearing a helmet.
During the investigation, police said they saw several cyclists riding by them in an area without bike lanes. A witness said the driver was in a small-sized tan SUV—police are still searching for that suspect. If you have any information, call CrimeStoppers at 472-TIPS.
