AUSTIN -- The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is looking for a convicted sex offender who walked away from a halfway house in Austin.

On Thursday the Texas Department of Public Safety announced it is offering a $3,000 reward for the capture of Kevin Patrick Stoeser, 40.

Stoeser reportedly had sex with underage girls while stationed in Fort Hood in 2002. He has been added to the 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force says he left an Austin halfway house after being accused of breaking rules.

DPS says Stoeser has a violent past and is wanted for escaping federal supervision and failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Stoeser is 5'9" and weighs about 170 pounds. He has tattoos on his forearms, upper right arm and right leg.
