Google is planning a huge experiment for at least one American city and Austin city leaders want it to be here.

"They are looking to push the envelope on Internet access and speeds offering to build the infrastructure in one or more communities in America.  Fiber to the homes which are at speeds 100 times faster," said Laura Morrison, Austin City Council.

The city has put together a website so you can get on board with the effort to bring Google’s ultra high speed Internet here.  You can learn more about the project, nominate Austin and suggest ideas.

Plus there will be a community forum Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Austin City Hall.
