A Central Texas family now knows what happened to their father who disappeared eight years ago.

Detectives held on to an Austin Crime Stopper's tip and filed charges in a 2003 homicide case.

Domingo Jaimes, 46, is under $100,000, charged in the killing of 55-year-old Armando Ramirez.

Family members say Ramirez never made it home from a friends house in June of 2003. His abandoned car was discovered about a quarter-mile from his house in Eastern Travis County. Blood was found inside the vehicle.

A massive search including dogs, Department of Public Safety troopers, and Equusearch of Houston ensued to find him. Nothing turned up.

A Crime Stopper's tip at the time, said Jaimes killed Ramirez, then fled to Mexico.

Earlier this month, Travis County detectives received another tip that Jaimes was back in town.

Detectives say Jaimes confessed to killing Ramirez over a minor traffic collision and dumped his body in the Colorado River.
