AUSTIN -- According to the Lower Colorado River Authority's hydromet data, some area creeks are seeing some impressive 24-hour rainfall totals.
During the peak of the storm Tuesday night, water forced a number of road closures. Experts say this is the best rain we've recorded for Austin in months. We had a decent downpour in September, but we haven't seen water rushing in creeks with road closures since July.
The LCRA is tracking rain totals. In 24 hours, the Colorado River took in 1.8 inches of rain. Cow Creek near Lago Vista had more than 1.5 inches. Big Sandy Creek near Elgin got more than half an inch.
