CALDWELL COUNTY -- DPS is investigating an accident that left three people dead Saturday morning.
DPS received a call around 9:13 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of northbound U.S. 183 and FM 1185.
Authorities said the driver of the FedEx truck, identified as Enrique Alvarez, 29, failed to yield right of way and slammed into a SUV. This caused the SUV to roll over several times.
The driver of the SUV and two of his passengers died. They are identified as Joe Anthony Salas-Castro, 29, and his two sons 4-year-old Jayden Joshua Salas and 9-year-old Joe Anthony Salas.
A 2-year-old girl, Jazalynn Nicole Salas, from the SUV was taken to Dell Children's Medical Center in serious condition.
DPS reports none of the four individuals in the SUV had their seat belts on.
The FedEx driver was taken to UMC Brackenridge with non-life threatening injuries.
DPS reports that his is the second fatal accident at this intersection this month.
