SONORA, California -- Huge plumes of smoke are filling up the sky as the Rim Fire continues to burn out of control in California.
Firefighters say they made some progress Monday, but the fire is still less than a quarter contained. The fire has inched near Yosemite National Park -- growing to an area now roughly the size of Chicago.
Crews are fighting the fire from the air and on the ground. The steep terrain is making it almost impossible for crews to get to some places where the flames are burning.
