The University of Texas has announced new details on the first round of budget cuts which will start this fall.

Seventeen people with the Campus Planning and Facilites Management departments will lose their jobs in September and another 60 vacant positions will not be filled.

Those workers are mainly responsible for campus planning, design maintenance and renovation projects.

This is the first phase of cuts which the university expects will save $3 million.
