The fire that broke out Sunday on on private land just east of Milton Reimer's Ranch Park in Western Travis County flared up again Monday afternoon but is mostly contained.
The fire went to four alarms around 3:30 p.m. Monday and as of 4:30 p.m. it was threatening two homes and had burned 40 acres. Just before 5:30 p.m. KVUE News learned the two homes were no longer threatened.
According to Travis County Fire Chief Buddy Crain no people were evacuated though horses from a nearby ranch were evacuated.
Investigators say the fire started by failed insulation on a power line.
Hays County, Travis County, and Austin fire departments all assisted Lake Travis Fire Rescue.
