SMITHVILLE, Texas -- Police are investigating after a woman's body was discovered in Smithville, Texas Friday.
Authorities said it appeared the woman had died of a gunshot wound.
Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call with information that there had been a shooting at 1072 Loop Road around 12:41 a.m. Officers discovered the woman's body upon arrival at the location.
The incident is under investigation.
