A man attempting to jump off a bridge was saved by Austin Police Officer Jason Borne.

It happened Thursday afternoon on the 11th Street overpass above Interstate 35.

"He looked over at me and I could see that his eyes were bloodshot, and I could see that he had been crying," Borne said. "So I stepped up my pace a little bit and just reached out and grabbed a hold of him and pulled him off the railing. He was sitting on the railing with his back towards 35 southbound traffic, so if he would have leaned back at all, he would have fallen over the railing. I asked him why he wanted to do that, and just responded that no one cared."

The 44- year-old man was uninjured. He now is receiving medical help.
