AUSTIN -- Austin police are investigating after hundreds of threats to the City's animal shelter and municipal court.
It started with a Facebook page about an Austin man's three pit bulls. A judge decided the City had to euthanize them, saying they attacked another dog.
According to the pit bulls' owner that dog attacked him.
City officials say death threats started coming in after a petition to save the dogs was posted on change.org.
The Austin Police Department had extra patrols at the shelter, but police say the threats have mostly stopped since the person who posted that petition shut the page down, saying details were missing from the case, and they could no longer support the petition.
