APD arrest "smash and grab" burglary suspect in Buda

AUSTIN -- APD arrested a man suspected to be involved in more than 25 "smash and grab" burglaries in the Austin area.

Frank Joseph Flores Jr., 36, was arrested by Austin police in the Buda area Monday. APD believes he and another man are involved in the burglaries.

Flores had two warrants for burglary of a building, both of which are felonies. He was booked into Hays County Jail and will go before a judge Tuesday.

Police say more charges are pending in Travis County. APD is still searching for another suspect.

The "smash and grab" burglaries took place at the following locations:

  • UHaul at 304 East Ben White
  • UHaul at 10125 North I-35
  • Subway at 3407 West Wells Branch Parkway
  • Subway at 4815 West Braker Lane
  • Subway at 1030 Norwood Park Boulevard
  • Coffee Bean at 221 South Lamar Boulevard
  • Hays County: Quizno’s at 640 Old San Antonio Road
  • Kyle: Dickie’s BBQ at 5695 Kyle Parkway
