AUSTIN -- The Austin Police Department has released the number of arrests that have taken place so far during the Labor Day No Refusal Weekend.
On Friday, police conducted 10 breath tests and 15 blood draws. On Saturday, police gave eight breath tests and 15 blood draws
With the initiative, police are allowed to get a warrant to draw blood from someone suspected of drinking and driving if they refuse to give a breath or blood sample on their own.
Within the first two days of the No Refusal initiative, police obtained 29 search warrants.
Last year's Labor Day No Refusal weekend brought in 79 arrests.
The initiative will continue until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.
