ARLINGTON — A tense, nine-hour standoff ended early Saturday following a deadly shooting in Arlington.
Police said a 20-year-old man allegedly killed his girlfriend at a duplex in the 600 block of Gemini Court around 8 p.m. Friday.
Almost two dozen neighbors were evacuated as a SWAT team surrounded the residence and tried to negotiate with the suspect.
The man was finally taken into custody at 5:17 a.m. Saturday. The name of the suspect and his victim were not released.
The American Red Cross provided drinks and food to police and neighbors during the extended stalemate.
