AUSTIN -- Police have released their numbers from the "No Refusal" weekend.
A total of 21 suspected drunk drivers were arrested during the initiative, which was in place Sunday because of the Super Bowl.
Twelve of those arrests were made after drivers failed breathalyzer tests. Nine people were arrested after failing a blood test.
Eight search warrants for blood tests were issued. There was one mandatory blood draw taken.
The "No Refusal" Initiative allows police to conduct a blood search warrant on any driver who appears to be intoxicated and refuses to take a breathalyzer test.
The initiative began at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and ended at 5 a.m. Monday.
Last year 17 people were arrested during the Super Bowl "No Refusal" event.
