DEVINE TORNADO -- Several families and businesses in the Devine area suffered major losses when a EF2 tornado touched down March 20, 2012. The Medina County twister ripped apart 30 homes. We spoke to Jessi Juarez whose home literally fell to pieces around her and her Miniature Schnauzer, Jack-Jack.
Josie Juarez hugs her daughter, 15-year-old Jessi Juarez, both still shaky after the teen survived a harrowing ordeal when a tornado demolished their home Monday night, March 19. Jessi and her Miniature Schnauzer, Jack-Jack, dived into the bathroom seconds before it struck. Only that bathroom remained standing. Seen behind the two is Jessi's dad, Jesse Juarez, who called to warn the teen of the tornado's approach.
