TAYLOR, Texas -- Two people were killed Thursday evening in a vehicle collision.
Police said a car was struck by a Chevy Tahoe SUV in the 3900 block of W. 2nd, in front of the Maxwell Car Dealership.
Lee Gonzales, 25, and Emily Gonzalez, 25, were ejected from the car through the rear windshield and onto the westbound lanes of traffic.
Lee Gonzales was struck and run over by a Mazda SUV, traveling westbound on U.S. 79.
Police said Lee Gonzales and Emily Gonzales were dead on arrival of police, fire and E.M.S. personnel.
A driver, passenger and a two-year-old child were also in the car at the time of the collision.
The two-year-old child was transported to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin with serious injuries.
The 19-year-old driver, Karah Gonzales and 52-year-old passenger, Johnny Gonzales, were transported to Seton Williamson Hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The driver of the Chevy Tahoe SUV, 66-year-old Bailey Delaney reported no injuries. His passenger, 62-year-old Janet Delaney was transported to Seton Williamson Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Mazda SUV did not report any injuries.
Taylor Police Department are investigating the collision.
This is Taylor’s first fatal collision of this year. Taylor did not have any fatal collisions in 2012.
