AUSTIN -- Two people have been arrested in a copper pipe theft investigation at a Target store in South Austin.
Police were called to the Southpark Meadows store off Slaughter Lane just before 5 a.m. Friday after an employee heard something on the roof.
Officers found the suspects sitting in a truck outside the store. Nine bundles of five-foot copper pipes were found stacked up. Police say they believe the suspects got onto the roof of the store with a ladder.
Both suspects were charged with felony theft of metal.
