You’re careful to charge your cell phone battery every day, but do you even think about keeping your cell phone clean? You might be surprised to find out just how germy your phone can get.
Microbiologist Dr. Peter Iwen tested three cell phones and an iPad for bacteria. He spotted a significant amount of bacteria on each, called flora in scientific terms.
“If I saw this as a viewer, I’d think, ‘gee maybe I need to keep my hands and cell phone cleaner,’" he said.
Phone No. 3 showed much less flora. Iwen said that person had possibly cleaned their phone recently.
One of the easiest ways to keep your phone clean is to use an unscented baby wipe or an alcohol swab. Never spray anything directly on your phone.
