NEW BRAUNFELS -- An 11-year-old boy is facing charges for allegedly bringing marijuana to school.

Police in New Braunfels said a student at Oak Run Middle School was showing off a pocket knife to students on Monday.

Some of the students told school officials, who in turn searched the 11-year-old's belongings for the knife and found a small amount of marijuana.

The student has been charged with possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.

He was released into the custody of his parents.
