Garland police are investigating a double shooting that left a man dead early Saturday morning and a second injured.

Officers were called to the Taco Bell at the intersection of Jupiter Road and Garland Road at about 1:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found two men shot in a white pickup truck that was parked next to the restaurant.

One man died at Doctors Hospital while the other is stable at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Dallas police were initially investigating, however Garland police spokesman Joe Harn said they learned the crime took place inside Garland city limits and took over about an hour later. The shooting, Harn said, happened around Jupiter Road and LBJ Freeway, roughly two miles from where the men were found.

No arrests have been made and the victims have not been identified. The investigation is ongoing, Harn said.
