Dancing cartoon characters and toys inspired by movies are high on the list of holiday favorites. Spiderman and Hunger Games have given way to several toys including the Katniss doll and a climbing super hero.
The Master Moves Mickey also breakdances his way onto the list put together by BestToysGuide.com
“I’ve seen a lot of these toys in commercials,” said 6-year-old shopper Leo at the Beaverton Fred Meyer.
One of his favorites on the hot list was Baby Butterscotch Pony from the FurReal Friends line. “It neighs,” said Leo with a smile, ”and she’s looking at me.”
LOL Elmo, a trimmed down version of Tickle Me Elmo, also had kids smiling as he laughed and told jokes.
For older kids the Lego Lord of the Rings made the favorites list along with the new Bop It Smash. A blast from the past is also expected to be big seller.
“It’s a Furby,” said Emma as she rounded the corner and spotted the bright red version.
The updated Furby has light up eyes and an IPAD APP which allows you to feed it and interpret the language.
Strolling the aisles of Fred Meyer on Monday was a Santa who used to visit with children at Lloyd Center and Washington Square.
“I would tell the kids to expect one toy from me and I could tell by their eyes what they were pumped up about,” he remembered.
