$12K snake stolen from N.C. pet store

GASTONIA, N.C. -- Police are searching for a man who broke into a North Carolina pet store and stole several snakes over the weekend.

Police said a man broke into the Reptile Passions store in Gastonia, N.C. early Sunday morning and stole several snakes, including a snake valued at $12,000.

The surveillance video, which was posted on the store's Facebook page, shows a man going through the store and putting snakes and other reptiles into a white bag. The police report listed 28 snakes stolen from the store.

One snake stolen from the store, the Pied Reticulated Python, is valued at $12,000, according to the report. Anyone with information to this robbery is asked to call at 704-866-3300.
