FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas -- An 11-year-old girl has died from injuries received in a go kart accident.
Sheriff Keith Korenek with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened on Sunday around 5 p.m. in the Round Top area.
Officials say an 11-year-old girl had been riding her go kart on her family's property when her parents noticed she wasn't home when she was supposed to be.
They called 911 when they found that she had crashed her go kart and had severe injuries. The girl was taken to St. Mark's Medical Center and was pronounced dead.
Names have not yet been released by authorities.
