Summer is just beginning to come to an end, but some people are already suffering from a fall-like problem: allergies.
Chief meteorologist Albert Ramon said the highest levels of ragweed so far this year popped up this week. It's an alarming sign, granted we're not into the peak of the season yet.
Allergists attribute the spike to mild winters and summers. Rain also allows ragweed to keep growing which translates into nasal congestion, sneezing, coughing and irritated eyes.
Doctors said it's in the best interest of allergy sufferers to minimize the effect.
"Make sure you’re taking your medications before you’re exposed to your allergens, wear wrap around sunglasses to protect your eyes from the pollen as much as you can," said Dr. James Haden.
Once inside, take off the clothes that could be covered in pollen and rinse out your hair.
Ragweed season doesn't end until the middle of November.
