Dell Diamond to make 'Fear the Walking Dead' TV debut Sunday night

Set your DVRs! A little piece of Central Texas is making its "Dead" debut on AMC Sunday night.

ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Earlier in 2018, the rumor mill was buzzing that the Dell Diamond -- home of the Round Rock Express -- had opened its doors to the zombies of AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead." On Sunday, April 22, those rumors were confirmed.

The Dell Diamond will officially make its "Dead" debut on Sunday night on the TV show at 8 p.m. on AMC.

The Round Rock Express said they partnered with the channel to to bring production of the hit "The Walking Dead" spinoff to Central Texas, with the Dell Diamond serving as one of the primary set locations for the show's fourth season.

According to the Express, the field was transformed into a post-apocalyptic set over the course of several months, becoming the home of the fictional Armadillos. To pay homage to the show, the Express will rebrand as the Armadillos during its game on May 5.

The Express said crews worked around the clock to bring Dell Diamond back to life in time for its "Express Fan Fest" following the show's last day of production at the ballpark in early March. This renovation process included replacing nearly all of the stadium's signage, the field's turf and outfield berms.

The fourth season of "Fear the Walking Dead" stars Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and Danay Garcia, along with new series regulars Garret Dillahunt, Jenna Elfman, Maggie Grace and Lennie James.
