$23M in methamphetamine seized in drug operation

CEDAR CREEK, Texas – More than 600 pounds of methamphetamine were seized Tuesday after a joint operation involving the Drug Enforcement Agency and multiple Central Texas law enforcement agencies.

Cedar Park police said authorities conducted a raid on a Cedar Creek home Sept. 19 and arrested Guillermo Andres Juarez-Perez, 29, and Alejandro Meza Palacios, 27. Police said they found 148 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and 490 pounds of methamphetamine in solution. Authorities also found three pistols, nearly $26,000 in cash and a stolen vehicle, CPPD said.

Police said both men have been charged with felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance > 400 grams, and that both are being held in the Bastrop County Jail. The estimated street value of the meth was listed by police at approximately $23 million. Online jail records do not list bond information for either suspect.The Bastop County Sheriff's Office, APD, SAPD, Department of Public Safety and Department of Homeland Security were also involved in the operation, CPPD added.
