An Austin festival wanted to help people become more environmentally aware.

Hundreds turned out to Green City Festival at city hall on Sunday.

People learned how to reduce their carbon footprint. Booths were set up with lots of advice, spanning from how to create rain gardens to how to keep chickens in the city.

Other information like water and recycling were also on hand.

City officials said this is one of the easiest ways to help spread the word on helping conserve and clean the planet.
