AUSTIN -- The Austin airport is taking the first steps toward building a new car rental facility with greener options for travelers.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport will break ground Wednesday on the $155 million facility. It will be certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and will showcase hybrid cars, along with an electric charging station.
The move also frees up 900 current rental car spots for passenger parking. Construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015.
