AUSTIN - Fans of Jack Daniel's grab a glass.

The Famous Lynchburg, Tennessee whiskey maker is opening a general store in downtown Austin for a week, and whiskey lovers will get the chance to experience how the dark liquor is crafted.

“It’s a special place, and we want to share that experience with our friends by bringing the Jack Daniel’s General Store to Austin,” said Jesus Ostos, Senior Brand Manager for Jack Daniel's.

The tour includes a whiskey sensory bar and a workshop on the barrel raising.

Visitors can also get a $5 haircut or try the General Store's 7 cent candy.

The store, located in the 800 block of Congress Avenue, will be open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 14. Representatives said private tastings can be scheduled after hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
