The Salvation Army Austin has started its annual Angel Tree campaign, hoping to provide gifts for 7,000 local children in need.
The trees – located at Lakeline Mall, Barton Creek Square and Hill Country Galleria – have paper tags with a child’s name and the gifts they want and need. Until Dec. 16, people can go to one of the malls, remove one or more tags and purchase the appropriate gifts. Once bought, people take the unwrapped gifts to the Angel Tree booth at the mall.
“These are children who would not otherwise have a Christmas and we not only provide toy items for them but also clothing,” said Jan Gunter with the Salvation Army.
Volunteers are also needed behind the scenes. TAP OR CLICK HERE for more information on the program and how to volunteer.
