AUSTIN -- A pedestrian who was hit by a bus last week in North Austin has died from her injuries.
Austin police say Amanda Louise Dewey, 53, was hit by a Capital Metro bus while walking across the street at West Braker Lane and Jollyville Road on Jan. 30.
Police say the bus was driving west on Braker Lane. The driver turned left to go south on Jollyville Road. The bus hit Dewey, who was walking west and crossing Jollyville Road.
Police say Dewey was in the crosswalk and had the right of way. She was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge where she died from her injuries on Feb. 7.
APD's Vehicular Homicide Unit is investigating. If you have information, you are asked to call (512) 974-8164. This is Austin's 8th traffic fatality of 2012.
