WILLIAMSON COUNTY - Two children died Tuesday afternoon in a car accident six miles east of Georgetown near Jonah.

State Trooper Robbie Barrera said the accident happened just after 3 p.m. on State Highway 29 and Water Valley Road.  An older model Jeep Cherokee rear-ended a 1993 Honda four-door as it was turning onto Water Valley from SH 29.

Jhi Bell, 4, and his brother, Jisaia, 1, died at the scene.

Trooper Barrera said Jisaia had been in a car seat while his brother Jhi had not.  State law requires all children under the age of 8 to be in a car seat.  DPS did not know if Jhi had been wearing a seat belt.

Three other people in the Honda, Britteny Powers, 20, Tristan Simien, 22, and the children's mother, Katrice Bell, 19, as well as the driver in the Jeep, Blake Dowd, 21, were taken to Seton Medical Center Williamson.
