Two restaurants run into trouble with the health inspector in Williamson County.

Mario’s Mexican Restaurant, 207 East Street in Hutto, failed its recent Williamson County restaurant inspection with a total of 36 demerits.  Among the violations:  employees handling tortillas without using hand sanitizer; no soap or towels in the kitchen sink; the health inspector observed an employee using a dented can of peeled tomatoes (the employee was told immediately to discard the contents); and raw eggs held at the wrong temperature.  On the required follow-up inspection, Mario’s passed with seven demerits.

Taqueria Pachangas, 101 Luther Drive in Georgetown, failed its health inspection with 37 demerits.  Among the violations:  a refrigerator was not working properly; an employee touching raw hamburger and then handling tortillas.  Also, the person in charge asked the inspector basic questions about food temperatures and a two-year-old child was in and out of the kitchen several times.  On the required follow-up, Taqueria Pachangas in Georgetown passed with eight demerits.
