It was a festival for the dogs as the Austin Snout by Snoutwest celebrated the bond of man's best friend.
It left attendants with an urge to help save those animals left out.
On Sunday the Jewish Community Campus transformed into a doggie paradise with a look-a-like contest, treats and plenty of room to roam.
The four-legged balls of fur who attended Snout by Snoutwest certainly thought they were lucky dogs to have such a playdate and they were right.
Many of these cute pooches were given a second chance at life through adoption.
"Her name is Bunny because we adopted her before Easter," rescue dog owner Diane Hyde said.
For every "Bunny" adopted, there are many more waiting for families.
"This little one's owner didn't want her anymore because she had a breast tumor that turned out not to be malignant. That's why I call her lucky," Barbara Vernold of Wee Rescue said.
"We foster Shihtzus, Lhasas, Pikingese, and mixed Shihtzus," Vernold said of her group.
It is one of several rescue groups who brought dogs to the event in hopes of sending them home with new owners.
One German Shepherd named Diesel may have met her match.
"We had one before. We actually rescued it from the German Shepard Rescue 12 years ago. We were so happy with him. He passed away two years ago so we thought it was time to get another one," Kari Means said.
To keep the mission of adoption alive, a portion of the funds from the event will go toward the Town Lake Animal Center and the Austin Humane Society.
"It is so important to help out dogs that have been abandoned, abused, traumatized, instead of buying a puppy. It's just doing something good for a dog," Means said.
"It's the right thing to do. There's just so many animals that need to be rescued. We were so fortunate with our previous dog, so it's the only way for us."
