The drought in Texas is so bad, ranchers are going to extremes to keep their animals alive.

One Belton man drove more than 2,000 miles to pick up donated hay. Lee Mosley received 275 bales of hay, and his ranch needs it.

Mosley had to look far and wide for free hay until finally he came upon a generous Kentucky farmer.

"What he said to me was, 'I've been in droughts before, God has blessed us and we actually have the resources to be of help now,'" said Mosley.

Mosley spent all Tuesday night driving and all Wednesday loading a 40-foot flat-bed.

On the way back, Mosley said strangers offered to buy the hay at every stop.

The rancher spent nearly $2,000 in gas for the round trip, but said it was worth every penny.
