AUSTIN -- A local high school will make history on Friday.
McCallum High School will be the first in the state with its own broadcast radio station. The school will officially launch "Mac Radio" this evening on 1670 AM.
Mac Radio airs two student shows, a morning show from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and a lunch hour show.
The station also broadcasts music from independent artists and the high school's orchestra.
The launch event is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the school's main hall.
