BASTROP, Texas -- A fiery collision happened Friday afternoon in Bastrop County and forced a major highway to close.
Highway 290 is closed in both directions just west of giddings near the town of Paige. An 18-wheeler and a car collided. The big rig rolled over and caught fire.
The eastbound lanes of 290 are closed. No word yet on whether anyone is hurt, or exactly what caused the accident.
