A man drowned in Lake Travis over the weekend. It happened off of Hi Line Drive in Hudson Bend near Carlos and Charlie's.

According to the Travis County Sheriff's Department, 32-year-old Paul Mathis jumped from a party barge. He was wearing a personal flotation device when he jumped into the water, however it came off and Mathis never came to the surface.

The man was found dead about one hour later. Rescue crews pulled him out of the water shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.  They performed CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
