A charter bus caught fire and could be seen smoking on the side of the service road on southbound Highway 75 near County Line Road 442 at the Collin and Grayson counties border.
The bus was carrying 30 students from Austin College out of Sherman. The students are female and male players on the college's basketball teams and were headed to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to catch a flight to Colorado for a game.
The fire appeared to start at the back of the bus, where the engine is located. The students were able to get off safely.
While an ambulance was at the scene, it appeared to a precautionary measure.
The students got onto another charter bus at the scene.
