Bands from all over the United States, and the world, are in town this week.
SXSW can be a big career boost for new musical talent. California folk singer Lissie is playing 10 shows this week. She's hoping to find new fans and maybe even a new record deal.
"This is an opportunity, I think, for all those people who have heard of me can hopefully catch one of my shows," she said.
This is the 23rd year for the music festival. It runs through Sunday.
